Data Breaches

The mobile banking service Klarna recently experienced a serious security issue that allowed users of its app to see the accounts of other customers as well as their stored information when they logged in. Read more here.


Other News

New figures from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike suggest many British firms aren’t reporting data breaches in a timely manner. The company polled 500 decision-makers and found that only 42% of those that had fallen victim to a data breach reported it to the ICO. Read more here.

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that GCHQ breached fundamental human rights by intercepting and harvesting vast amounts of communications. The Strasbourg-based court ruled in a case known as “Big Brother Watch and Others vs. the United Kingdom” that Britain had breached the right to respect for private and family life communications and the right to freedom of expression with its bulk intercept regime.
